Boarding Rules
At SisterCreek Ranch, our goal is to provide a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all boarders, guests, horses, and staff. These Rules and Regulations are intended to help preserve the quality, safety, and operation of the ranch and its facilities. All boarders and guests are expected to comply with the following guidelines at all times.
Positive Ranch Environment & Community Respect
SisterCreek Ranch strives to provide boarders, staff, guests and their horses with a peaceful environment. Any actions that negatively affect the peaceful operation and reputation of the Ranch will not be permitted.
Guests, Visitors & Facility Fees
All visitors entering ranch property with a boarder MUST sign a liability waiver. Waivers can be found in the barn next to the sink or in the office.
Facility Fees: General visitors are $10 per person and can be paid at time of visitor visit or added to boarder’s invoice for the upcoming month. Immediate family members and significant others are exempt from this fee. All other visitors will be charged a facility fee.
Day Riding Fee: The general $20 day ride fee will apply to any boarding guest, trainer or visitor that rides a horse on the ranch property. This fee can be paid at time of visit or added to boarder’s invoice for the upcoming month.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the ranch property. Absolutely NO smoking out on the trails. If you plan to smoke, please do so in the ONLY designated spot on the ranch which is on the porch of Sniffy’s. Make sure that the cigarette is disposed of properly in the provided bucket with sand.
Emergency Horse Transportation
Boarders are encouraged to maintain an emergency contact or transportation plan in the event veterinary transport is needed. Please have a plan in place in case of emergency and please give your emergency plan to the office for our files.
Ranch Appearance & Safety
Please help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the ranch by:
*properly storing tack, grooming supplies and personal equipment.
*Disposing of trash appropriately
*Reporting damaged fencing, unsafe conditions, loose livestock, or trail hazards immediately to ranch management
*Please close and latch arena gates and close round pen doors after use.
*If you see a gate open on the trail, please close it. You can go through the gates- but please close them behind you.
*Turn off all water hoses and wash rack faucets after use
*Please do not take your horse into our barn without prior approval from management. If you need to use the indoor wash rack for the use of the hot water- please make sure to ask the Ranch Administrator for permission.
*Please do not take horses or golf carts over the wooden bridge to Sniffy’s.
*Please clean up after your horse in all common areas. This includes but is not limited to wash rack, around the barn, arena, round pen and landscaped walkways and paths
Parking
Please park by the office towards the large rocks. Please do NOT park in the “Reserved” parking areas in front of the office garages or in the spaces labeled Loren and Letty- for those are reserved for the owners and employees.
Emergency & First Aid Information
Boarders are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the location of ranch first aid supplies, emergency contacts, and emergency procedures posted within the barn area. There are first aid supplies in the Nurse’s Quarters in the barn, office and Sniffy’s. If your horse is experiencing a medical emergency, please find a staff member or call the office 830-324-6525 for assistance. The ranch has certain equine medications on site if necessary. Emergency contacts are posted on the wall by the telephone in the barn.
Ranch Events & Closures
SisterCreek Ranch periodically hosts private retreats and hunting. Boarders will receive advance notice of any temporary closures or restricted access periods associated with these events.
Gate Security & Access Codes
Gate access codes are confidential and may not be shared with any unauthorized individual for the safety and security of all boarders, guests, staff and horses.
Golf Cart Usage
Boarders may use available golf carts on the property with prior permission. All carts must be returned to their designated location after use and cleared of personal belongings and equipment. For safety reasons, no one under the age of 16 is permitted to drive the golf carts. Please do not drive the golf carts on the grass if it has recently rained and is muddy. Please do not drive the golf carts into the horse paddocks. Please plug in the cart when you are done with it.
Interaction with Ranch Horses and Boarded Horses
Boarders and guests are welcome to visit and enjoy the horses along the paddock areas; however, feeding ranch horses is not prohibited unless authorized by ranch management.
Use of Ranch Residence & Common Areas
Sniffy’s is part of the private residence of the Ranch Owners and must be treated respectfully. They welcome you into Sniffy’s but please keep a few things in mind:
Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult at all times
Please don’t bring your own food and drink into Sniffy’s. There are picnic areas around the facilities for your use.
Boarder’s and their guests are welcome to come into Sniffy’s to cool off and grab a drink! Please keep in mind that Señor Sniffy’s accepts cash or check only or we can add it to your boarding bill.
Trainers and Service Providers
Boarders may utilize outside farriers, veterinarians and equine healthcare providers without additional facility fees.
However, outside trainers or individuals providing paid equine-related instruction or services on ranch property are subject to a $10 daily facility use fee.
Acknowledgement
SisterCreek ranch appreciates the trust placed in us to care for your horses and maintain a welcoming ranch environment for all. These Rules and Regulations are intended to promote safety, respect, and positive boarding experience for everyone on the property.
Failure to comply with ranch policies may result in additional fees, suspension of privileges, or termination of boarding services at the discretion of ranch management.
