Our Story
In 2001, Bruce and Beth Johnson started dreaming of owning a piece of the Texas Hill Country. They wanted horses, open land and a place where other horse lovers could come to enjoy it too. After looking at dozens of properties, they found the perfect one just outside Fredericksburg. They opened the doors to SisterCreek Ranch in 2002. Their idea was simple: create a welcoming spot where folks could bring their horses, ride beautiful trails, and stay awhile. They built cabins for those who wanted a cozy place to rest and added RV sites with full hookups for people pulling living quarter trailers- just like they used to do. They hauled their horses and rig from Arkansas to Oklahoma and all over Texas, staying in a variety of different State Parks. They loved visiting the State Parks but wanted to create a place of their own where guests could relax and enjoy all that nature has to offer. That’s what they built here at SisterCreek Ranch. Your dogs are welcome at the RV sites, and they can ride the trails right alongside you. The cabins are a peaceful, dog-free retreat after a day in the saddle. The ranch is tucked in the heart of the Hill Country- close enough to Fredericksburg for dinner or shopping, yet only nine miles from the legendary Luckenbach.
The ranch is still their home, still their passion, and they love sharing it with fellow horse people! Looking back, they have come to realize that what they created is a sanctuary for horse lovers. When you drive through the gate, people say that something in them just exhales.
Come ride, board and stay with us.
Bring your horse, bring your story, and make yourself at home.
